More Than Just a Typewriter

At El Granero, we believe a typewriter is more than a writing machine. It's a piece of history, a work of mechanical art, and a companion for stories yet to be written.

• One of a kind. Every vintage typewriter carries its own character, memories, and imperfections, making each one truly unique.
• A new purpose. We carefully restore these beautiful machines not just to preserve the past, but to give them a new purpose in the present.
• Made to be treasured. Whether you're a writer, collector, artist, or looking for an unforgettable gift, we help you find something special that will be treasured for years to come.

Because some stories are worth being typed, not texted.

Europe's Largest Physical Typewriter Shop

Since 2013, El Granero Typewriter Company has been a family-run business dedicated to restoring and preserving vintage typewriters.

• Europe's largest. Based in Fuengirola, near Málaga, Spain, we are proud to be Europe's largest physical typewriter shop.
• Our own workshop. A 200 m² showroom and our own professional restoration workshop.
• Craft and care. We combine traditional craftsmanship, mechanical expertise, and personal service.

We bring beautiful typewriters back to life and into the hands of a new generation of writers.

Restoring Typewriters Since 2013

We specialise in professionally restored vintage typewriters, mechanical repairs, complete restorations, and custom-made editions.

• The old way. Every machine is taken apart, cleaned, adjusted and tested by hand. Worn platens are replaced, and full rebuilds are available on request.
• Proof, not promises. Each typewriter is filmed working before it ships, with a typing test page and a quality certificate carrying its serial number.
• Custom editions. Our own colours and finishes, made in our workshop.

Our workshop also offers original spare parts, ribbons, accessories, and expert technical support. Beyond sales, we provide typewriter rentals for weddings, film productions, exhibitions, and creative events.

From iconic Olivetti and Hermes models to rare collectors' pieces, every machine receives the attention, craftsmanship, and care it deserves.

Our Reputation Speaks for Itself

Since 2013, we have professionally restored over 5,000 vintage typewriters.

• Worldwide. More than 4,000 customers across 75+ countries, including the USA, UK, France, Spain, Australia, and many more.
• Trusted. 1,000+ verified customer reviews, with an average rating of 4.9/5 stars across Google Maps, Judge.me, Shopify, Ecwid, eBay, and other platforms.
• Ready for you. Our 200 m² showroom and restoration workshop in Fuengirola is home to hundreds of beautiful typewriters, each individually inspected, serviced, adjusted, and tested before finding its new home.

Our dedication to craftsmanship and personal service is what earned these numbers.

"I have used up all the truly happy adjectives to describe El Granero and shop owners Ania and Jacek. They're that good. Their typewriters are that good. All I am left with is hyperbole. Now, people use hyperbole when they're exaggerating something. But what if it the truth can only be described with exaggerating words? This is my dilemma. This is how good El Granero is. AWESOME! BUY BUY BUY!"

"What a thing of beauty! My Valentine Olivetti arrived and it is a glorious item to behold-works like a charm but better yet, it sits on the table and reminds me how much I love the written word. The people at ElGranero are helpful and easy to work with and their merchandise is first-class. Thank you for this magnificent machine! I love it!"
